Wednesday 9 November 2011

Been really slack updating this as I just tend to forget.  Since last update we have had various things for school going on - camp, pet show day, market day and lots of school assignments to be completed.  But in between this time I have been setting up my own little cupboard at home and selling some of my necklaces & bits & pieces.  Really enjoy & I hope that by word of mouth it will expand and if it doesn't well never mind at least I'm enjoying myself in the process.

Below is a couple of pic's of things that I have put in for people to purchase.  Let me know what you think or what I could improve on, as I am very new to this.

My necklaces that I am making

 Crockery
Decorated box for popping in my magnets I make

Decorative flags for scrapbooking or for delicious cupcakes that my daughter made.

Magnet pegs that are going out the door

Gingerbread men crayons, these went like hotcakes at the school market.

 Small sample of christmas cards

And finally my magnets

You can always check out other bits I've been doing on facebook.com paperchains cupboard.

So really I haven't been slackening around I've just been doing stuff and enjoying myself.  Looking forward to all the wonderful craft fairs that are coming up here in Christchurch although I suspect my son won't be in the least bit interested.

I found this old cream bottle in my boxes in the garage so decided to fill it with buttons.

Its time I got into my vegie patch and sorted it out as it is a complete shambles and has been very neglected, mind you with being in the red zone I won't be planting to much stuff as we will be moving in the near future.

And to end this mixed up posting I thought I would just show a picture of the daisy that I love which is apparently a weed but I need it in my garden and this year there is masses of it popping up everywhere - yipee I say.

thanks for looking

Santa Bags

Wednesday 5th October 2011

Back again with the little goodie bags I was making today.  I am pretty pleased with the way they have turned out so here is a pic for you to view.  I've done this one with a christmas theme which we could either hang on our tree or the kids could give away to friends.  So what do you think?  Sorry about the lighting shouldn't take pic's in the evening.

Cut & pasted together then added 2cm strip of paper on both side, then a small green/gold star sticker round both sides, then a santa (obviously) attached with foam tape so he stands out.

Attached a piece of bakers twine, then ...

yum yum yum a couple of bite sized dairy milk bars.  That was the only stash I had in the cupboard but you could put anything in them.

Tuesday 4 October 2011

Gosh I haven't done this ages, time just disappears and I forget.  Well we are into the last week of term 3 and looking forward to not having to do lunches & uniforms for 2 weeks.  Yipee ya.  Hope to get some more crafting done even though the kids are around.

Recently we went to a market day at the local playcentre and I took along some things that I had made.  Shared the table with a friend and it was trial to see how we both felt about doing it.  Was a small affair but we both sold some things which gives one quite a buzz when someone purchases something you have made yourself ... so after searching local markets we are going to have a few more goes leading up the the madness of christmas.  Fingers crossed folk like our things.

I diversified a little and have been making necklaces which I thoroughly enjoy and also some magnets (got the idea of Lowri) and they were a hit.

Below are some pic's of what I was selling and would be interested in your comments.

decorative tin for magnets to be put in

start of magnet collection

some of the cards I made

Right now my dining table is covered in paper, glue, scissors, cutters, punches so I had best get back there and tidy up before school finishes.

Hopefully another posting later as I been trying to create a christmas table decoration today and its still in the drying process.

Thanks for looking

Monday 29 August 2011

Can't believe the month is nearly over.  Spring is certainly around in the garden with 23 daffodils waiting to be picked.  Camellias are out in full bloom and the winter roses are in full swing.  Unfortunately my garden will be coming to end as we have been placed in the "Red Zone".  I went around in the weekend looking at what plants I could save & put into bags or pots.  I am certainly taking all my roses and bulbs.  As for the lovely fruit & flowering trees they will probably have to stay.  Makes me sad as I love my garden.  Anyway we have created some new things so I thought it would be nice to share.

This is a journal my daughter made.  She has a thing for notebooks ...  in fact she has so many of them it is time for a throw out.

She also made this for her one day new bedroom.  After a visit to Spotlight (man that is a $$$ dangerous store to visit).

I did this about a month ago at a day class. I thoroughly enjoyed making it and was surprised how easy it was to do.  It is now sitting proudly on my bedroom wall.

In the middle of making a memory booklet for my son which is something I'm been doing off & on so I do hope he appreciates it.  Its not big but will have some pic's of him & his friends & family.  Hopefully by the end of the week it will be completed so watch this space.

Thats all for now.  Have an enjoyable week and take care.

Been awhile since last posting on this and we thoroughly enjoyed the last dumping of snow on us and truthfully the kids are hoping for another one

Even the Snowy (pardon the pun) enjoyed the whole event and went absolutely crazy.  As for the cat she wasn't having a bar of it at all.   She is that little blob under the jungle gym.

We all made this rather square looking snow hut, fun to do but actually quite hard work, hot showers & hot chocolates afterwards.

For some reason I absolutely love this pic below.  It was a clear crisp morning & the temporary clothes line was struggling to stay up.

Wednesday 17th August 2011

Tried my hand at scrapbook page (haven't done one for ages so felt a little rusty & frustated as didn't have everything I wanted)  with pic's from July snowfall.  Ran out of glue so hopefully it doesn't look to misplaced.  I suspect a trip to Scrap it Simple is in order for me - yipee!!

Tuesday 16th July 2011

So white and cold here at the moment.  Being stuck at home was a perfect opportunity to get some projects completed - well almost.

Magnets

They are just sitting on the fridge at the moment.

Sitting on the underside of a decorated tin which isn't completely finished.

Top and inside of tin.  Going to be a birthday present for family member.  Hope she likes them.

Also after going through our collection of stamps I decided to do a couple of these as I just love hedgehogs ...

Really enjoyed doing these

Saturday 14th August 2011

Ok here it goes, quite nerve wracking being in the new world of cyber space.

I thought I would share some pic's of the cards my daughter & I have been making after she went  to a class held at "Scrap-it-Simple" run by Hiliary in the school holidays.  We have become slightly addicted and are thoroughly enjoying it.
